It looks like we are heading for a government shutdown. The budget was due in September of 2010. Oddly enough, despite having control of all sectors of the government required to pass a budget, the Democrats opted not to. It may have had something to do with the $1,600,000,000,000.00 in debt they were going to put us in and how badly that would play in the November elections (Democrats got whooped anyway).
And oh, that election was largely predicated on the ridiculous amount of government spending and the taxpayers' desire to see that reduced. Clearly, the Republicans, those who did not stop a budget from being passed in 2010 and who are respecting the wishes of the November election, are responsible for this government shutdown! Nobody could possibly assume the party with the power to pass the budget when it was due and who refuses to cut any spending, despite the wishes of the people, is responsible.
Odd how that September due date isn't being reported in the media. I wonder why.
